Welcome and blessings in the name of the Lord!
These guidelines exist so that everyone who comes onto the land —
guests, leaders, families, and groups — can enjoy it safely and
respect the people, the property, and the work God is doing here.
General use.
-
You are welcome to move tables and furniture as needed, but please
return all furniture to its original location.
-
When outside, we ask that there be no activities of a deleterious
nature (i.e. foghorns, noisemakers, fireworks, fog or smoke
machines, or loud concert-type music).
-
Dropbox for Liability Form drop-off (and all other document
drop-off) can be found on the far-right post of The River Barn.
-
All trash is to be removed from property by checkout. This is
critical as there are animals in the area that will make a mess of
the trash.
- Please do not dump any greasy food or scraps in the river.
- Check-out time is noon for overnight stays.
-
To prevent further riverbank erosion near the River Barn, a
retaining wall was constructed. Please note that rocks are loose,
sharp, and expensive to put in place. Please do not allow anyone to
enter the rocks or throw them in the river. We know this is tempting
for all, but it is very unsafe. It was a lot of work to get this
into place, so we ask all rocks remain in place. We desire everyone
to continue to access this special place.
-
ATVs:
-
are allowed only for utilitarian purposes like moving people
and/or supplies, not for recreational purposes.
-
must be driven by a licensed driver at least 25 years old.
-
one ATV is permitted for events with up to 50 participants, two
for events with more than 50 participants, with responsible
exceptions.
Code of conduct.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed at any time.
- Campfires in designated areas only.
- No fireworks, foghorns, or loud noisemakers of any kind.
- No outside ‘concert’ type music or amplified speaking events.
- All outside activities need to be approved by Ministry staff.
-
All water activity is at your own risk. The River Ministries and
property owners are not responsible for accidents.
-
The River Ministries will ask for a basic itinerary of your
activities before use is approved, and we reserve the right to deny
certain activities if deemed inappropriate.
The River Ministries property is private property. Use of property
must be through proper arrangements and reservations.

Ministry & property information.
Property owners and The River Ministries desire for all who come to
experience the presence of the Lord here. Several items of general
safety information will help this happen for all of us:
-
There are several families that live and minister on the
surrounding property — please be aware of children at play and
pedestrians.
-
There are animals in several locations on the property — cows, pigs,
chickens, dogs — as well as wildlife: turkey, deer, beavers, bears,
coyotes, snakes, etc. Be cautious and safe as you are walking and
driving in all areas.
-
This is a rural, farming area! Other things you may encounter while
on the property: ATVs, tractors, mowers, others walking or riding,
volunteers maintaining the property, etc. Again — be alert and safe!
We do our best to respect the privacy needs of each group.
-
For your safety, please obey all property boundary markers and speed
limit signs. They are there for the protection of all.
Liability.
All guests participating in retreats, events, or outdoor activities
must complete the release form. Find it on the
Forms page.
